A bit further north of the New Milford Station is River Road which runs almost parallel to the Housatonic Railroad's Berkshire Line (and the Housatonic River). At the Bennett Road crossing just off of River Road is the site of the HRRC's derailment in April , 2002. Today the tracks are much improved and there is no longer a speed restriction in the area. There's just enough of a clearing from the derailment's clean-up on the inside of the curve to get some decent shots.Since these pictures were taken at 9:50 am and facing eastward, there is a bit of glare from the sun.
